Unboxing – Birchbox

Hey Y’all!

Last month I ordered my very first birchbox! It got here extremely late due to an error in their system or something. I think they switched the way they deliver their boxes, or so they said in the email I received.

Anyways, here are the items I received and what I think of them! IMG_4003So when I finally got to opening the box I thought it was so funny that there were three boxes to open. It was this green big box then an orange box and then the birchbox filled with the items.

IMG_4012So these are all the items. I received five items that were tailored to me based on how I answered their questionnaire about what kind of items I would like and by describing my skin/hair.

So the first one is the small white bottle and it is the Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect Spray. I blow dry my hair a lot now that I have a diffuser so this spray should be useful once I use it. It is a leave in conditioning mist that acts as a heat protectant. I currently use a Tresemme heat protectant and I’m not sure it actually does anything for hair so we’ll see if this one is better.

Next, is the small purple tube and that is the Purlisse blue lotus seed mud mask and exfoliant. This exfoliant is made with white clay, bamboo, ginger, mushroom, white tea, and rice bran water. I’m excited to try it but recently my skin has been reacting badly to all of the products I have been trying out so I decided to cool it with the products for a bit.

The colorful spray bottle is the amika perk up Dry Shampoo, which I loved using. I wash my hair every three days and on the third day it gets fairly greasy so the dry shampoo always brings back a little volume and definitely gets rid of the grossness in my hair. Dry shampoo is always something I love to have because I always use it. I think I have gotten three or four dry shampoo samples and I’m always so happy to get them.

The pink rectangle is a sample of Coastal Scents Blush and Bronzer Palette. I received a blush and a highlighter. I actually really enjoyed using the blush because it matched my skintone extremely well. I haven’t used the highlighter yet though!

The blue and white rectangle is the Marcelle City Multi-Protection Tinted Cream SPF 25. So this is essentially tinted sunscreen that can be used as a moisturizer, skin tint and primer. I rolled a little around on my finger and it feels really smooth but I have yet to actually apply it. img_4013.jpgI figured there were too little items to take pictures individually so sorry this post is a little more wordy than most.

Oh! I also got a free mini beauty blender. IMG_4016

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products or if you subscribe to Birchbox! I’ve also wanted to try Sephora and Ipsy so if you have any suggestions, let me know!
